Home to Mount Mitchell, the highest peak in Eastern America, Green Cove Properties calls Yancey County home. Burnsville is the county seat and largest town and there is lots to do for residents, both seasonal and year-round. Mitchell County is home to Bakersville (the county seat) and Spruce Pine along with Roan Mountain, which features the world’s largest natural rhododendron gardens. AVERY COUNTY
As North Carolina’s youngest county (founded in 1911), Avery County features Grandfather Mountain and its famous Mile-High Swinging Bridge along with a variety of activities. From the arts to outdoor fun, including hiking and skiing, there’s something for everyone. Newland, Banner Elk, and Elk Park are the main towns, but vibrant communities are everywhere, welcoming everyone to make Avery your new home.

MADISON COUNTY
Madison County is home to Hot Springs, a famous 19th Century resort, and Mars Hill, the location of Mars Hill University. Marshall is the county seat. You will find plenty of outdoor activities, including hiking the Appalachian Trail, rafting, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing the French Broad River, and mountain biking. Asheville is nearby, as are the Tri-Cities and Gatlinburg in Tennessee.

McDowell County is the scene of major events in the colonial and Revolutionary War eras, including events that lead to the Battle of Kings Mountain. Located between the piedmont and mountains, Marion and Old Fort welcome you with varied experiences both indoor and outdoor.
